How does having a love for reading provide a child with an academic advantage? This is because from about Primary 5 or Grade 5 onwards, students learn new vocabulary primarily through what they read, instead of what they hear, unlike younger students.

Building strong reading capabilities and especially a love for reading can therefore give students many opportunities and a wide exposure to learning new words and meanings.

At the heart of reading is comprehension, when a student can derive meaning and pleasure from the text his or her eyes are scanning through. Many brain skills need to work in sync to support pleasurable reading. For example, fluency, or the ability to read accurately at a sufficient speed, has been found to be highly correlated with comprehension.

Join us at this product webinar as we discuss and demonstrate Reading Assistant, a software programme that has been designed to help children increase vocabulary, accelerate oral fluency and deepen comprehension.

Acting like a personal reading coach, Reading Assistant uses voice-recognition technology to help students develop strong fluency and comprehension skills to succeed in school and life.

Attend this webinar to:

  • Learn how oral guided reading impacts word recognition, fluency and comprehension across all grade levels.
  • Uncover the unique features in Reading Assistant to help your child develop solid reading skills.
  • Enjoy a programme special for interested parents and schools.
